I will warn you not to get a cappuccino for it costs a lump sum of 6,70 euros, AKA $9.00, which buys you a massive meal at Chipotle (including a drink and extra guac.) However, Les Deux Magots is people-watching central on the one and only Boulevard Saint Germain.
So whether you go for a croissant, a meal or a glass of wine, you will sit and enjoy life and just not do the math conversion from euros to dollars. This was a chevre and tomato mille feuille appetizer (special of the day), it was creamy and delicious and went well with an entire basket of baguette. They also have great salads if you need something green, my mom loved her Salade Saint Germain, which included some chicken breast, string beans, raisins, boiled egg and curry sauce. I had an omelet; it was good, tasted just like…an ordinary omelet.
FYI, Cafe de Flores is next door, and is the same idea…people watching and overpriced food, but a necessary visit when in Paris…even if it’s just for a croissant. Oh, and than Le Relais de L’Entrecote is just around the corner and Pierre Hermé is walking distance…
