Fancy Schmancy

L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon is an out of body fine dining experience that you will not try on your own. Drag a visiting family member…maybe. My aunt Mara (photo above) visited me and spoiled me in the food department my first week in Paris…Those days are over but the memories remain!

Robuchon is top 50 chefs in the world, so the prices match his title. Half the hype is just sitting there. You can go for a main dish, or mess with the mini pricey bites if your feeling adventurous. I was. So I got the crab raviolis..comes with three one-bite little suckers. Delish. I also got a little mozzarella stack with tomato and eggplant, excellent; and a more funky option to deviate from my usuals: a truffle and egg melange with a surprise piece of lobster floating at the end of my martini glass. I had a silent heart attack…when I realized I was about to devour a raw egg yolk and potentially intoxicate myself with salmonella, but I took it like a man, kept my cool and conquered my runny egg and truffle appetizer like it was my job. Not too shabby…

Oh. The chocolate mousse was potentially the best of all. An absolute must.

  1. I do consider all of the ideas you’ve presented on your post. They’re really convincing and will definitely work.
Nonetheless, the posts are very short for newbies. Could you
please prolong them a bit from next time?
    Thank you for the post.
