I went to assess the sitch at Chikarashi. I can get behind something that’s essentially a sushi roll on steroids minus seaweed.


It’s been centuries



…since I’ve posted. But now I’m back with some goods. One good. Llama Inn. I fucking love llamas.

And establishments that sound like an obscure motel near a petting zoo where you can put 25 cents in a gum ball machine and leave with a plastic hot pink llama or stale bubble gum ball and call it a day, but it’s not. I have no idea what I just said, but hear me out.

Zak the Baker, doing baker things.

In an era where fast casual dining is taking over, Zak is striving for the opposite. “I wanted a slow casual place,” said Zak when I asked to tap into his secret sauce-y life. “I’m not trying to be the next Chipotle. We have 50 employees, we don’t make very much, but it’s perfect.” That was almost as cute as his honey butter toast.
